Our approach to
Quality

For Uni-Mecc, quality is not just the result of final inspection, but the outcome of an organized process: from material selection to planning, from tube cutting to logistics towards customers’ production plants.

We work to ensure:

  • consistent components over time, batch after batch
  • clear and traceable information for every supply
  • a transparent technical dialogue with customers, especially during project start-up and industrialization phases

MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND CERTIFICATIONS

A certified and documented system

Our management system is designed to meet the requirements of the most demanding sectors in terms of methodology and traceability.

Uni-Mecc operates in accordance with the following standards:

  • ISO 9001 – Quality Management System
Ensures that company processes are defined, monitored, and continuously improved in a structured way, from order intake to delivery.
  • IATF 16949 – Specific requirements for the automotive sector
Certifies the compliance of our system with automotive industry standards, with a focus on defect prevention, waste reduction, and supplier management.
  • ISO 14001 – Environmental Management System
Covers the control of environmental impacts related to our activities: resource usage, waste management, emissions, and continuous improvement objectives.

Certifications are supported by regularly updated internal procedures and documentation available to customers when required.

ISO 9001:2015

ISO 9001:2015 is an international standard that defines the requirements for a quality management system, aimed at improving efficiency and customer satisfaction through structured and controlled processes.

IATF 16949

IATF 16949 is an international certification that defines the requirements for a quality management system specific to the automotive industry, focused on continuous improvement, defect prevention, and the reduction of variation and waste within the supply chain.

SUPPLY CONDITIONS

The company supply code is a unique identifier assigned to each supplier, used to manage and track orders and commercial relationships within the company.

ISO 14001:2015

ISO 14001:2015 is an international standard that certifies the adoption of an environmental management system aimed at improving environmental performance, reducing negative impacts, and promoting sustainability.

CODE OF ETHICS

The company code of ethics is a set of principles and guidelines that regulate the behavior and decisions of the company and its employees, promoting integrity, transparency, and social responsibility.

TECHNOLOGY AND INDUSTRY 4.0

Digitalized processes

In recent years, Uni-Mecc has made significant investments in digitalization and Industry 4.0 to achieve a more accurate and up-to-date view of production processes.

Key elements include:

  • use of ERP–MRP systems for production planning and procurement
  • interconnected machines, enabling real-time data collection and monitoring of machining processes
  • material batch traceability throughout all stages, from tube input to finished component
  • reporting systems supporting performance analysis and continuous improvement activities

This approach allows us to better manage volumes, lead times, and specific customer requirements, especially when supplies are destined for different plants and complex production lines.

INSPECTIONS AND MEASURING EQUIPMENT

Dimensional and visual inspections

Inspections are an integral part of our working approach and are defined based on the component characteristics and customer requirements.

Depending on project complexity and tolerance requirements, we develop a control plan that may include:

  • precision dimensional inspections: systematically performed on first production parts (FAI – First Article Inspection) or on statistical samples to validate machine setup
  • real-time monitoring: technical checks on periodic samples throughout the entire production cycle to ensure process stability and prevent quality deviations
  • 100% inspection (full screening): upon specific request or for critical functional features, we perform full inspection of each individual part, ensuring total batch conformity
  • visual and surface inspections: detailed checks aimed at identifying micro-defects, scratches, or unacceptable aesthetic imperfections, ensuring a flawless product also from a visual standpoint

Traceability and Data Archiving

Quality does not end with production, but continues through documentation. Every result is digitally recorded and carefully stored for agreed retention periods. This allows the creation of a true “identity card” for each batch, essential to ensure full traceability, support historical analysis, and provide customers with fast and accurate responses at any time.

We believe that quality is the result of a shared process with the customer, especially when it comes to new products or particularly demanding applications.

For this reason, during the start-up and industrialization phases:

  • we jointly analyze drawings and operating conditions
  • we define the most suitable control plans
  • we agree on packaging, labeling, and logistics management methods
  • we maintain an open dialogue to introduce any improvements during production

The goal is to provide not only a component compliant with the drawing, but a reliable element within the customer’s production system.

ENVIRONMENT AND RESPONSIBILITY

Environmental management and resource use

ISO 14001 certification translates for us into a concrete commitment to managing environmental aspects related to production.

In particular, we focus on:

  • responsible use of raw materials
  • reduction and proper management of processing waste
  • control of emissions and energy consumption
  • scheduled maintenance to ensure equipment efficiency

We also take part in initiatives and projects that promote the transition towards more sustainable production models, in collaboration with partners and external organizations, with the aim of combining competitiveness and environmental responsibility.

We continuously monitor our environmental performance indicators to define new targets for continuous and transparent improvement. We actively promote awareness among our personnel, making every operator a key contributor to energy saving and environmental responsibility practices. Process optimization allows us to reduce the carbon footprint of each component, ensuring technical efficiency and sustainability. This commitment reflects our intention to build a solid industrial future, capable of generating value while fully respecting the local environment.
